    The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles wanted two permanent scale models of their fabulous new Art Museum to be displayed on their site. Their purpose was to enable the public to view the layout of Buildings, Galleries, Etc. They contracted with a fabricator of large art pieces and sculptures, to accomplish their goal. This company attempted to fabricate the model by conventional machining methods but could not meet the Getty's quality demands. Swiss Wire EDM was contacted and as a result, the models were built entirely by the EDM process out of 316L Stainless Steel. In total, 105 individual components were made including Spiral Staircases, Ramps, and Rotundas. The two models are now on display and are expected to be a feature at the museum entry for generations to come. If you visit the Getty at any time in the future, do not miss these models - they are truly works of art.
